The Spa at Woodhall
Woodhall Spa is a wooded oasis encompassing a fine Edwardian Broadway.
The story of the Spa began in the early 19th century,
with an unused industrial mineshaft found to be full of water
that had overflowed into the ditches of Coalpit Wood. This new
discovery inspired incredible investment in Woodhall Spa and it
became a fashionable inland spa resort.
Woods and Jubilee Park
The woods are a striking feature of the village,
the colours of the flora change throughout the seasons. Near to the woods is Jubilee Park, a family favourite,
with tennis courts, bowling greens, children's play park and outdoor
swimming pool.
English Golfing Union HQ
Woodhall Spa has always been a popular venue for
golfers, but since the establishment of the English Golfing Union's
headquarters, the sport has blossomed.
Kinema in the Woods
The Kinema in the Woods and Kinema Too is an unusual
rear-projection system cinema with an operational theatre organ.
It was christened 'The Flicks in the Sticks' by the forces stationed
in the area during World War II.
617 Squadron - The Dambusters
The 617 Squadron, the 'Dambusters' played an important
role in World War II and their Officers' Mess was based at Petwood
House, now a hotel. The 'Dambusters' Memorial stands in Royal
Square. Visit the Cottage Museum and you can discover more about the village,
